Seasonal: April-October, check website for hours

Add’l Entertainment: Miniature Golf, Farm animal tour

Right down the road from Purgatory Chasm, West End Creamery is a sweet respite after traversing the trails and rocks. With a cute electric train that runs around the indoor seating and a patio overlooking beautiful pastures, it’s an easy place for adults to relax and for kids to wind down. As a destination point, the miniature golf and farmyard can provide hours of entertainment.

ImageOur party of three sat down, each with a waffle-bowl of something different. Renee’s Kahlua Fudge fat-free frozen yogurt (with generous jimmies) was a guiltless indulgence that “tasted just like Kahlua.” Stef’s Milky Way was also true to its name and needed no toppings. My Monster Mash with hot fudge blended malt balls, crushed Oreos, and five or six other candies and toppings into rich vanilla ice-cream. The “small” sizes that we all ordered were not very small — a good thing! — and satisfied each of us. In addition to the ice-cream, there’s also iced coffee available. It’s New England Coffee brand, which is a high quality medium roast. Flavor shots can also be added.

As part of a whole family/friends fun day or as a destination in and of itself, West End Creamery is a must-visit this summer. o
