ImageImageNo, Pet Rock isn’t that pebble in your pocket you rub for comfort, but it IS the largest animal expo on the East Coast. The 10th Annual Pet Rock Festival will take place Sunday, Sept. 14 [wet dog date, Sept. 21] from noon to 5p.m., at Quinsigamond Community College (670 West Boylston St., Worcester). This daylong festival of fundraising fun for the entire family (including your leashed dog!) aims to promote responsible pet ownership, bring attention to animal cruelty and educate humans on a variety of animal related issues. This year’s entertainment is Danny Klein’s Full House, an 11-piece R&B powerhouse led by Klein, who played bass with Boston’s J. Geils Band. Try your paw at the Gemini Agility Course, get a professional photo portrait of your pet, and don’t miss the always-popular doggie water park. Proceeds benefit New England based animal welfare organizations. Check out petrockfest.com to learn more.
