Spree days

The Worcester County Jail is holding a New Hampshire couple charged with 14 counts of identity theft, forgery and bank fraud. The Manchester Union Leader reported the story. According to police, Joshua Converse and Leza Townsend went on a crime spree that took them from New England to Virginia. If convicted, the couple is facing more than 200 years in prison and will be required to pay fines and restitution totaling more than $7 million. U.S. marshals, along with an assist from local police, arrested the pair in Southboro. Hollis Police Sgt. Richard Mello reported that Converse was on parole when apprehended. Federal prosecutors indicated that others were involved in the scheme, saying that a conspirator would steal someone's identification and/or checks then Converse and Townsend would allegedly commit the crimes.

City Hall surprise

The Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise reported a local woman crashing her car into Leominster's City Hall. Brian Crosby, of Fitchburg has been charged with assault and battery and two counts of destruction of property in the case. According to police records, Crosby was arguing with his girlfriend as she driving. "He became angry and then punched the woman in the face," said Leominster Police Lt. Scott Bernier. She then said she was going to the police. Bernier reports Crosby then reacted by grabbing the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to jump the curb and crash into City Hall. Crosby was freed on bail and due in back in Leominster District Court for arraignment on the charges. o
