By Chet Williamson Urinetown Revere police arrested two local men for DUI after avoiding the stream of one man's urination. On Saturday, March 1, around 3 p.m., police took note of a car parked for nearly half an hour in the breakdown lane of the VFW Parkway in Revere. When officers approached the vehicle, they found two men arguing. "As the officer continued conversing with the driver and passenger it became increasingly apparent they were both under the influence of alcohol," said Police Capt. Michael Murphy. The incident, reported in The Revere Daily Item, identified the two men as Wilfredo Cornejo of Worcester, the driver, and Mario F. Ladino, 34, of Marlboro. Murphy also said that while the officer asked Cornejo for his license, Ladino got out of the car and start peeing next to him. "When back-up units arrived, officers struggled to get Cornejo to exit the vehicle. He refused to comply and officers ultimately had to pry him out of the vehicle," Murphy added. Cornejo was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer. Ladino was charged with indecent exposure. Girdle crime The MetroWest Daily News recently reported the arrest of a local woman who used a girdle to hide stolen items. Store security at Marshall's in Framingham called police last week about Jannie Vaughn, 47, who they allegedly saw shoving items into her purse and up her dress. Speaking of the crime in general, Lt. Paul Shastany said, "[Perpetrators] put the girdle between their legs so they can use it like a kangaroo pouch." After Vaughn was arrested, police searched her car, and found more stolen items. She pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. She is due back in court on April 10. o All information taken from public records, published reports and court proceedings.
