Snow blind

A Warren man is under arrest for operating under the influence (among other things) after fleeing a motor vehicle accident scene on Stafford Street last week. Leicester Police Chief James Hurley stated that local and state police came across a pick-up truck that had gone off the road. Officers checked the area and could not locate its operator, but observed blood at the scene.

A short while later police located 22-year-old Jason McKusick in the woods. He was bleeding heavily from his hands and stuck in the snow. He had sustained an ankle injury and appeared to be suffering from hypothermia.

McKusick, who initially resisted arrest, was transported to UMass Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and eventually released. He was then taken to the Leicester Police Department where he was booked on multiple charges.

More snow

The Milford Daily News recently reported the arrest of a "West Maple Street mom," charged with drug dealing while her kids were at school. Police arrested Jennifer Calnan after pulling over her gold Mercedes. According to investigating officer Lt. James Falvey, Calnan voluntarily handed over more than $5,000 worth of cocaine to police. "It's a good, significant arrest in the town of Milford," Falvey said.

Milford Police were also working on the case with the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force. "She's been under investigation for a while," Falvey said of Calnan. Police also found another 40 grams of cocaine hidden in her bedroom bureau. Calnan was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession with intent to distribute. o
